March Madness brings some of the world's best basketball into a jam-packed three weeks. From the opening tip-off to the final buzzer, the excitement is non-stop. At Meals on Wheels Durham, we took that same energy to the court for our Full Court Press Challenge — and Durham did not disappoint.
Two generous donors stepped up with a match to double the impact of every dollar given. Our original goal was to put 1,000 points on the board. Instead, Durham came off the bench, turned up the full court press, and scored a buzzer-beater — raising $31,257.57 and blowing our goal out of the water.
Through our Beyond the Wait campaign, we've moved 100 Durham seniors off an 18-month waitlist and into daily care. Every $11 funds a meal and a safety check — and thanks to our matchers and every donor who gave, that impact was doubled.
