April Dudash

President
Mettlesome Theater and DPAC

April learned about the hard work and compassion of Meals on Wheels Durham while serving as communicator and employee giving campaign co-manager for Duke University’s Office of Durham and Regional Affairs. She fell in love with MOWD’s mission and strongly believes that access to nutritious meals is a basic human right.

April joined Meals on Wheels Durham’s Board of Directors in 2018 and has since served as vice president, secretary and on multiple committees, and was most recently voted in as board chair in 2024. By day, April works as Operations Director for Mettlesome Theater, a Durham arts nonprofit that uplifts local artists’ voices and brings quality comedy performances to the Durham community, as well as works as the Community Engagement and Wayfinders Coordinator for DPAC, Durham's performing arts center. She holds an MBA from Elon University and a BS in journalism from the University of Florida.

She lives in Durham with her husband, Charles, and their pup, Sammy. She loves writing fiction, freelance writing for Durham Magazine, and coaching, teaching and performing improv comedy.
