Abagail Dawkins joined the Meals on Wheels Durham team in September 2025. She oversees the systems and team that keep daily meals prepared and delivered safely and on time, coordinating staff and volunteers to ensure every client is served reliably.
Prior to joining Meals on Wheels Durham, she worked in Atlanta’s creative nonprofit sector, leading customer-facing teams and building internal infrastructure for organizations navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. She also expanded capacity for events and community engagement initiatives while generating new revenue streams.
Abagail’s work is grounded in connecting people and processes in service of a community-driven mission. For nearly a decade, she has guided teams and created flexible, inclusive systems that simplify operations and elevate staff and volunteer performance. This expertise ensures that Meals on Wheels Durham delivers not only meals, but nourishment of both body and spirit through care, connection, and consistency across the community.
