Danielle Corcione has led Meals on Wheels Durham operations since 2020 and holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from North Carolina State. She has a background in policy, legislation, community organizing, and advocacy work at the state level. Desiring to be more directly connected to social justice issues affecting the state, after completing her graduate studies, she decided to address hunger in North Carolina from the ground up.
Corcione worked for several years in agriculture production with the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle farm, a nonprofit organization helping to feed families in seven counties across the state. Under her management, food production increased over 250 percent in two years. In 2019, she accepted the role of Director of Operations with Social Beverage Co. and relocated to Kinston, NC. With a passion for sustainability and building local communities, this role allowed her to continue her work with local farmers and support the growth of the economy and the local workforce. Her passion for feeding people and her desire to return to the nonprofit sector brought her to Meals on Wheels Durham.
