April learned about the hard work and compassion of Meals on Wheels Durham while serving as communicator and employee giving campaign co-manager for Duke University’s Office of Durham and Regional Affairs. She fell in love with MOWD’s mission and strongly believes that access to nutritious meals is a basic human right.
April joined Meals on Wheels Durham’s Board of Directors in 2018 and has since served as vice president, secretary and on multiple committees. April’s day job is working as a communications manager for Fidelity Charitable, America's largest grantmaker. She is currently pursuing her MBA from Elon University and holds a BS in journalism from the University of Florida. She lives in Durham with her husband, Charles, and their pup, Sammy. She loves writing fiction as well as coaching, teaching and performing improv comedy.
